Natural Symphonies

We walk in silence for miles
fingers tightly intertwined
The only sound surrounding us are the sounds of
birds and the river
like a symphony

No words were spoken
But together we heard our hearts skip the same beat

We aligned
and a safety blanket covered us
protected us
like leaves that bow when the rain lays above them

I bowed and surrendered to the orchestra that played the song
written in your eyes
that laid across your body
and into your heart
and through your veins
and in your bloodstream
and somehow
morphed into
the music I heard
when we walked in silence for miles
fingers tightly intertwined
and the only sounds surrounding us were the sounds of
birds and the river
like a symphony.
